Next time you go to toss your Pepsi bottle in the trash, consider this: The average plastic bottle takes 450 years to degrade. Instead, give your old plastic soda bottles a new lease on life.
Make A Funnel. Set your bottle on a table vertically, then cut it in half right around the diameter of the bottle. Turn the top half upside down, unscrew the top, and you have a funnel.
Water Flowers. Don’t throw away the bottom half of the bottle from your funnel! Instead, cut it down until it fits snuggly under your favorite flower pot. Fill the plastic dish with water. The plant roots soak up the water over time, so you won’t have to pour water into the top of the plant every day.
Scoop Pet Food. Actually, you can scoop anything, from grass seed to soil. Lay the bottle on a table horizontally, and then cut it in the middle at a 45 degree angle. The end with the bottleneck makes a perfect scoop.
Save Water. Save water and money every time you flush the toilet. Simply fill a 20-ounce bottle with water, and drop it in the tank. The bottle allows the tank to be refilled with less water, making your toilet more efficient, and cutting down that annoying water bill.
Grow Herbs. Cut a large hole in the side of your soda bottle. To fix the bottle to the wall, cut small holes on the bottom and top of both sides of the bottle. Loop twine or string through the holes to hang. To see how this work, look at our attached image.
