According to household paper product producer Kimberly-Clark, the United States produces 17 billion toilet paper rolls each year. That’s 160 million pounds of trash! Instead of throwing out empty cardboard toilet paper rolls, turn them into owls! They’re great for ornaments, bathroom decorations or children’s toys.
Collect your rolls. It’s one roll per owl, so collect as many rolls as owl’s you’d like to make.
Paint the entire outside of your toilet paper roll and let them fully dry.
Then, pinch one end of the roll down to create ears. You’ll fold down half of one side, and then the other.
It’s time to decorate! Draw an owl face on your toilet paper roll with permanent marker, or glue on googly-eyes and glitter.
If you’d like to add feathers and wings, cut out the shapes from other toilet paper rolls, and then glue them onto your toilet paper owl.
Voila! You have a free and unique holiday ornament or bathroom decoration.
