Store-bought floor cleaners are expensive, and they contain dangerous chemicals like ammonia and formaldehyde that are not only bad for your pet’s health (they’re bad for yours, too!) This nontoxic, homemade floor cleaner works on all types of hard flooring.
For vinyl, tile and stone floors: Mix one gallon of warm water with one cup of distilled white vinegar.
Use your mop to spread the cleaning solution on your floors.
Let your floors air dry.
If your floors are especially dirty, repeat steps 1-3.
For hardwood or laminate floors: Mix one gallon of warm water with half a cup of distilled white vinegar.
Dip your mop or sponge into the floor cleaner.
Wring out excess water (too much water can warp wood floors).
Spread the solution on your floors.
Dry your floors immediately with a clean towel. Never let excess water sit on hardwood floors because it can cause warping.
