If the pizza delivery guy always shows up late, it may not actually be his fault! Run outside to your curb and take a look at your home’s address numbers. Are they easy to see from the road? If not, it may be time for a number upgrade.
Safety inspectors suggest that your address numbers be at least 3-6 inches tall and a color that contrasts with the exterior of your house. This suggestion is less about prompt take-out deliveries and more about making sure the police and fire department can quickly find your house in an emergency, so this advice is worth taking even if pizza isn’t your thing.
If your numbers are looking a little small, head to a hardware store and do some shopping! Or make these DIY house numbers.
Tip: The best spot for your numbers is under a porch light so they can be seen at night from the road. It’s also a good idea to add reflective numbers to your mailbox if your house isn’t visible from the main road.
