Are you having another bad hair day? Have your once soft locks taken a brittle turn? If you’ve been noticing a drop in your hair health lately, your house may be responsible.
One of the biggest household hair abusers is hard water. Having hard water means that your water supply contains a lot of minerals like calcium and magnesium, and more than 85% of U.S. homes are affected by it. At best, hard water will leave your hair dry, brittle and sad looking. At worst, it can change the color of your hair! So, before you take your next trip to the salon, test your house for hard water
Next up: humidity. As the seasons change and temperatures drop, moisture gets sucked right out of the air. If you’ve been waking up with a stuffy nose, dry skin and frizzy hair, it’s probably because of low humidity in your house. Luckily, this is an easy fix -- just purchase a humidifier and keep it running in your bedroom at night.
If you need a quick hair solution for date night, use a beer to soften your hair! Simply shampoo and rinse your hair, then squeeze out the excess water. Take a flat beer (open it and let it sit for few hours) and pour it on your hair. Rub the beer into your hair and let it soak for a few minutes. Then rinse thoroughly. The alcohol shines your hair and the hops soften it. If your hair is extra damaged, try an IPA for the extra hops. Don’t worry, the smell fades fast, so you’ll be more than ready for your date.
