In theory, taking out the trash isn’t very hard. You just grab the bags from each room and take the garbage outside. Boom. Done. Right?
Because the trash bag in your kitchen isn’t the same size as the one in your bathroom. And you can’t find the small bags anywhere. So you have to run around opening storage closets and cabinets and all of a sudden “trash day” turns into a terrible kind of scavenger hunt.
We can’t make your trash woes disappear entirely, but we can make the process easier! Here’s how:
Drop about a dozen extra bags into the bottom of each trash can.
This trick seems simple, but it makes an enormous difference (yes, enormous). Throwing a few bags in the bottom of the can will make the chore go a lot faster because you don’t have to make multiple trips to each can. And that’s important. Tip: To speed things up even more, ask your kids or significant other to replace the bags while you take out the garbage!
