Bring this culinary king outside of the kitchen, and try one of these tricks around the house. There’s no need to get fancy. Polish furniture – Olive oil can help remove dust from wooden furniture and make it shine. Add one teaspoon of olive oil to a quarter cup of lemon juice, and you’ve got a non-toxic polish for your tables and chairs.
Oil measuring cups – Rub your measuring cups with a little olive oil before you cook. That way, gluey substances like honey, mustard, and syrup won’t stick to the cup and will be easier to clean. Remove paint from your skin – Rub olive oil onto your dirty skin and allow the oil to soak in for five minutes. Rinse with soap and water. If the paint is stubborn, let the oil sit for a few more minutes. It doesn’t matter if it’s latex house paint or watercolors, this technique will help get the paint off your skin.
Clean your garden tools - Spritz some olive oil on your tools to cut down on dirt buildup. When the dirt is gone, simply wipe the tools clean.
