It’s only Monday, yet you're already daydreaming of Friday night. It’s going to be a long week. Instead of counting down the days until Friday, break the work-week blues with some decadent homemade soaps. They’re easy to make and less than ten dollars per batch. That way, you can start your Tuesday with a spearmint soap shower or end the evening with a relaxing bath complete with a lavender-scented bar.

To make your own glycerin soap, you’ll need measure cups, a mold of your choice (we like these from Hobby Lobby) and glycerin. Glycerin, the most obscure ingredient, can be purchased at any hobby store for about $7.
Before you whip up your first batch, remember that soap leads to soap scum. Luckily, dealing with soap scum is as easy as a couple of lemons or a jar of white vinegar. If you notice a hard-to-fight white milk substance, read Tackle Soap Scum to learn how to fight the film with common household items.
