We believe that your home should make you happy. But sometimes clutter, stacks of bills and all of the other ingredients that make up stress can turn your home into a place that does exactly the opposite.
No more! Get your home back to happy with this one simple trick: Transform your most-used space into a “happy zone.” Here’s how:
Is it at the dining room table? In a reading chair in the bedroom? Or simply out on your front porch? It doesn’t matter where it is as long as it’s truly where you spend your time, and not where you think you should spend your time (looking at you, home office).
Once you’ve determined where you spend the majority of your time, put effort into making sure it’s the best it can be. In other words, keep it at the top of your cleaning list, and make sure it’s always stocked with everything it needs to be functional. For example, if your happy place is a reading chair, make sure it has a working lamp and a comfy throw blanket for chilly nights.
Take your space to the next level by adding a little something extra, like flowers or framed pictures of loved ones. Little things like candles or a reminder of your last great vacation can go a long way in boosting your mood.
