White light switch covers. A doorknob. An ordinary pair of salt and pepper shakers. Yawn! What do all of these things have in common? Without any help from your creative, stylish self, they’re incredibly boring!
Time to spice things up! Dress up these seven items in just a few simple steps:
This is an easy revamp that should only take about 15 minutes. The most difficult part is simply going on the hunt for doorknobs you like! Visit Etsy.com to find unique doorknobs (like these!), or head to your local thrift and antique stores to find porcelain, glass or brass designs!

So, this project will take a little disassembling, but it’s totally worth it if you’re looking for a little pop of color on your ceiling. We love this chevron inspired idea for your bedroom or living room, where you’ll spend a majority of your time. Note: Check your ceiling fan’s owner’s manual before disassembling – you don’t want to find yourself unable to reassemble it!
All you need to revamp your lightswitch covers are: some fabric, Mod Podge, an X-ACTO knife and a screwdriver (to remove the faceplate). Tip: You can also use paper napkins, lace, or thick scrapbook paper.
Bathrooms are notorious for being the most difficult room to decorate. That’s why we wanted to add a quick décor idea that doesn’t require any major renovations. All you need is some washi tape! Simply wrap washi tape around the base of your toothbrush holder to give it some striped style.
Add a dash of gold to these kitchen staples! For this project, you’ll need gold leaf paper and some double-stick tape. First, take a piece of double-sided tape and wrap it around the lower part of your shaker. Then, wrap the gold leafing around the tape.
That’s it! For the full tutorial, visit Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Just like drawer or cabinet handles, you can also swap out your furniture nails, too! The people at Droog have done just that by offering smiley-faces nails (yes, really), glow in the dark nails, and more.
If the thought of painting a dresser is intimidating (or if you just already love the color) there is one simple change you can make today, no paint required! Unscrew your existing drawer handles and replace them with more bold designs like this or this, both found on Etsy. This can work for any cabinet or drawer in your home.
