Clean Your Cutting Board & Classic Wooden Boards

For “Bobby Flay’s Red Curry Marinate Skirt Steak Fajita Recipe” you will need: 3 cloves chopped garlic, 2 diced roasted red peppers and a dash of bacteria. If you don’t keep your wooden cutting board disinfected this happens every time you chop or slice!

Unfortunately, wooden cutting boards can’t be thrown in the dishwasher like their plastic counterparts to be disinfected. The heat in the dishwasher can distort wooden boards or crack them, allowing even more bacteria to hide in the crevices. To clean your wooden cutting board, all you need is a lemon and a pinch of salt. Here’s how:

  1. Cut a lemon in half.

  2. Microwave the lemon for ten seconds to loosen up the juice.

  3. Sprinkle coarse salt on your cutting board.

  4. Rub the salt vigorously into the board with your moist lemon until any stains are lifted.

  5. Rinse your cutting board with warm water and thoroughly dry it to prevent mold or mildew growth.
