Whether you’re cheering on your favorite sports team or adding a bit of curb appeal, getting a flag from your front porch is easy to do.
Here’s how to get started:
Flag bracket holders are easy to find at your local home improvement store or online through sites like Amazon. For a more permanent, durable solution install a bracket made of galvanized steel.
Find an area that is away from tree branches, gutters or other items that could easily snag your flag. If you have a porch with wood posts, this is a great place! Prefer to hang your flag vertically? If it has keyholes, hang it from a window or overhang by installing cup hooks. Just make sure it’s easy to take down on days with stormy weather.
To screw in the flag holder, you’ll need a power drill that can drill into your house’s siding or sheathing. Note: If you have brick siding, you’ll need a masonry bit. Make sure you drill holes into the brick (not the mortar).
Slide the flagpole into the bracket, and make sure it fits snug. That’s it!
