We’re geared up to cheer for the world’s greatest athletes as they compete in London! To show your Olympic spirit, decorate with maps, flags or gold! Here are four easy Olympic-themed decor ideas:

Maps. It’s easy and inexpensive to turn an old map into an interesting décor piece. Plus, maps don’t need to be in perfect condition to be upcycled – in fact, older maps often look better! If your Olympic allegiance is torn, add an interesting element to your décor by highlighting multiple countries around your home. To learn more about highlighting maps, read: From North to South: Decorate Your Whole Home With Maps.
Flags. Pay homage to the host country by displaying a Union Jack, cheer for Usain Bolt by flying the Jamaican flag or root for team USA by hanging Old Glory! Whichever flag you go with, be a good sport and follow the proper etiquette for hanging it. Different flags have different guidelines, so check first! If you don’t have a flag handy, you can also paint the image of a flag or simply decorate a room with a flag’s colors.
Gold. If you just want to go for the gold, display the metallic color throughout your home! Eat your Olympic-watching snacks with this gold paper-mache bowl from Etsy and these gold flatware pieces from West Elm, or hang gold-framed mirrors and gold picture frames near the television set. If you want the champion look without the price, spray paint! Find gold spray paint at your local hardware store for less than $10, pick your item and then get spraying! Sports. If you want to showcase your sporty side, unbox memorabilia from your glory days and proudly hang your tennis rackets, jerseys or even an old hockey stick. If you haven’t hung onto your old gear, you’ll be able to find vintage sporting equipment on online stores like eBay, in consignment shops or maybe even hiding in your parent’s basement. Frame a jersey alongside an old action photo or ticket stub to create a sentimental wall piece.
