Fresh cut flower displays are an easy way to brighten up a room, but their short life span can disappoint you when they seem to go from blossoming and beautiful to brown and wilted in the blink of an eye.

With this two second hack, you can increase the longevity of your bouquets:

Crush a tablet of aspirin with the back of a spoon and drop it into your flower vase before filling it with water. (This tip works best if the cut stems are covered by at least 3-4 inches of water.)

Salicylic acid in the aspirin help keep the water clean and free of harmful bacteria, allowing your bouquet to blossom for longer.
